About TICC Community Catalyst Recoverable Grant
Turtle Island Community Capital (TICC) is a Native-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit financial intermediary building the capital and support infrastructure that Native entrepreneurs, tribal enterprises, and Indigenous communities need to thrive across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
The TICC Community Catalyst Recoverable Grant is a 0% recoverable grant designed to lower TICC’s blended cost of capital and make more affordable lending possible for Indigenous entrepreneurs and Native-led community projects. By prioritizing impact over financial return, catalytic funders help unlock deeper flexibility: lower borrower costs, more patient repayment structures, stronger technical assistance, greater risk tolerance, and a more resilient Native-led capital platform. This recoverable grant is for aligned funders who want their capital to act as infrastructure, helping TICC move resources into right relationship with communities building long-term economic self-determination.

Turtle Island Community Capital’s mission is to transform how capital flows in Indigenous communities by providing patient, flexible financing, culturally grounded technical assistance, and the relationships Native entrepreneurs, Tribal Nations, and community-led projects need to thrive. Our vision is a Northeast and Mid-Atlantic where Indigenous communities hold the power to direct, deploy, and benefit from capital on their own terms, building durable businesses, resilient community infrastructure, and intergenerational wealth. We are building Native-led financial infrastructure that keeps capital moving within communities while advancing food and energy sovereignty, land stewardship, arts, culture, and reasons for living.
