Why Use a Donation for Impact Investing?

In the United States, nearly two trillion dollars sit in donor advised funds (DAFs), foundations, and annual charitable giving. While much of this capital is intended for positive impact, only a portion is currently aligned with the values and missions of its donors.

Philanthropy has traditionally focused on grants and donations as the primary means to create impact, with roughly 5% of assets distributed annually. However, the remaining 95% often is invested in general stock market funds, which may not reflect the owners’ values.

CataCap addresses this gap by enabling you to use part or all of the 95% to invest with real impact, while continuing to reinvest as your funds generate returns.

About CataCap

Our founders share a lifelong passion for making meaningful change irresistible, leveraging the power of the private sector to drive social transformation. CataCap is redefining philanthropy by unlocking the potential of untapped capital in donor-advised funds (DAFs), foundations, and charitable giving. Our platform bridges the worlds of giving and investing, enabling individuals and organizations to channel their resources into purpose-driven ventures that align with their values.

Whether you are an entrepreneur seeking funding or a donor-investor looking to amplify your impact, CataCap offers an inclusive, innovative, and collaborative environment where everyone can contribute to building a brighter future. By lowering barriers to entry and fostering meaningful connections, CataCap is paving the way for a new era of transformative impact investing.

Step   1

Activate Your Impact

Make a tax-deductible contribution through your preferred method—credit card, bank transfer, appreciated stock, or a grant from a foundation or donor-advised fund. Your donation is deposited into your personal CataCap donor account, ready to fuel change.

Step   2

Multiply Your Influence

Join forces with other mission-aligned donors. CataCap aggregates contributions around shared causes, enabling access to larger-scale, high-impact investments. Whether you give $250 or $100,000, your donation becomes part of something bigger.

Step   3

Keep the Momentum Going

You’re in control. Recommend grants to vetted 501(c)(3) nonprofits or impact-driven companies, reallocate funds into new CataCap opportunities, or direct them to another donor-advised fund. Every dollar you deploy continues your journey of purpose-driven giving—amplifying your impact with every move.

So, how does it all work?

CataCap is a user-friendly platform designed to connect donors with impactful investments, making it easier for everyone to participate in impact investing—without the usual high entry barriers.

Mission

CataCap empowers individuals and organizations to transform their philanthropic capital into purpose-driven investments that create meaningful and measurable impact. By bridging the gap between charitable giving and impact investing, we enable every dollar to work toward advancing values, driving change, and building a better future for all.

We also enable communities to come together and invest in the themes they care about, fostering collective impact and shared purpose.

Values

With inclusive participation and shared leadership, while being innovation-centered and playful, we seek to break down barriers for both sides of the equation.

We support entrepreneurs getting funds from new sources and with less friction, plus donor investors – with much smaller amounts – being able to play like ultra high net worth individuals.

We are about the entrepreneur and the fund as much as the donor investor, respectful and making space at the table for new players on both sides.
