About Proper Food
Proper Food is a vertically integrated, chef-driven platform for freshly prepared meals, with a beloved consumer brand. Our mission is to make high quality food accessible for all, even on the go. It is reinventing fast food in a way that is healthier, better for the planet, and nourishing for our local communities.
Proper Food believes in giving back to the communities in which it operates. At the end of each day, all unsold meals are donated to charity. Proper Foods has donated over a million meals since inception, feeding countless recipients, including low-income families, veterans homes, women's shelters, health facilities and so many more.
Proper Foods operates 20 retail locations across the Bay Area and New York where it serves its elevated grab & go meals. Beyond retail, it distributes through office catering, corporate foodservice, and branded wholesale—leveraging its commissary infrastructure to drive strong unit economics, quality, and consistency.

The menu evolves with the seasons, offering a fresh selection of breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, soups, and heated Chef's specials.
